About the Workshop Appropriate toilet training is a benchmark skill in terms of an individual’s ability to function in society. This workshop will provide parents and professionals with strategies for developing a toilet training program for home and/or school settings. At the end of the workshop, participants will know how to implement a toileting program. Specific topics will be addressed include: emotional, communicative and developmental issues, rewards, toileting readiness, behavior management, and overcoming some of the most difficult problems when toilet training children with disabilities. Behavior problems if not tackled properly, often affect learning and family life. Different kinds of management techniques to deal with tantrums, inattention, and non-compliance will also be addressed to aid effective toilet training. There will be plenty of time to answer questions and discuss cases and problems that participants currently face at home or at school.
